My name is Tenesha Connor. I developed Basketball.Science.Life as a way to combine and share my life passions and knowledge with others. Currently, I have over 20 years of combined basketball experience either as a student-athlete or a coach. Tenesha attended Emory & Henry University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology and was a point guard for the women’s basketball team. Following my playing career, I began coaching in 2016 as the head middle school coach at Greensboro Day School where I also assisted the Varsity Women’s program. I then moved to the Cleveland area in order to obtain a Master of Science from Case Western Reserve University in Medical Physiology. During that time, I hosted individual basketball lessons with age groups ranging from 5 years old to college players as well as small group skill development classes. I am very familiar with the recruiting process, what it takes to play at the next level, and take pride in helping players find an athletic program suited to their needs. Currently, I am the head girls’ basketball coach at Shore Middle School in Mentor, OH. During my first season, I coached the team to a 19-0 undefeated record as well as a conference tournament championship. My coaching philosophy combines fundamentals, basketball IQ, and hard work. “I believe basketball and life lessons are closely intertwined. I teach all my athletes the importance of a solid foundation and the reasoning behind techniques in order to create independent thinking both on and off the court and develop effective basketball habits while also keeping the game fun.”
While not on the court, I am often exploring scientific explanations. My curiosity led me to conduct neuroscience research at the Veterans Affair’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. I have published research in the journal of Cerebellum and consider myself a life-long learner.
